Today we
watched a short clip about the Zanni
from the ‘fava’ commedia DVD.
A zanni was
so hungry, he would eat anything he found. So he ate things he found on the
ground. He even ate his own shoes! However after eating the shoes he choked on
it and died.
The
emotions he should were:-
1.
Hunger
2.
Desperation
3.
Greed
4.
Excitement
5.
Hysteria
His
movements were:-
1.
Light
on his feet
2.
Bent
over
3.
Leading
with his nose
4.
Knees
out to the sides at all times
5.
Arms
like a chicken ready to grab things
Next we did an exercise to learn the zanni walk and do it ourselves. this helped me to learn more about the zanni and understand his character better.
